Week 16: Align investments with your values

Over the past three weeks we’ve looked at sustainability terms and made sure you’re up to date with the lingo, how long-term thinking benefits investments and what you need to know about investing in biodiversity.

This week we’re going to look at a specific way to align your investments with your values using a stocks and shares ISA (individual savings account) or JISA (junior individual savings account).

We’ve just released a couple of handy guides to the ISA and JISA which, if you don’t know what one is, you should definitely read before you move further down this article:

ISA Guide - https://www.bigexchange.com/free-guides/isa

JISA Guide - https://www.bigexchange.com/free-guides/jisa-guide

Back already? We hope you found those useful.

By downloading and reading those you’ve actually done this week’s action! Nicely done.

But whilst we’ve still got you there is one more thing we’d ask you to consider. We want to come back to last week’s action and ask you to make a list of all of the places you invest - think both time and money. How many of the things on this list would you say really align with your values? In the spirit of taking action, are there one or two things on this list that you could replace with better investments that really speak to your values? Could you get the ball rolling on those today?
